Academy is the right default, with two live lessons a week and everything above. Platinum adds the thing nothing else does: three mock papers a year marked against the State Examinations Commission scheme, with your specific recurring errors named and a written study plan. If your timetable does not suit live lessons at all, Library gives you the recordings and notes without them.
Monthly recurs until you cancel. The academic-year plan is a single payment covering the year, and it works out cheaper because it is. Here are the numbers on the Academy plan:

Nine months is September to May, which is the length of an actual school year. If you know you are staying the year, the annual plan is straightforwardly the cheaper choice. If you are not sure yet, start monthly; you can switch later, and there is no joining fee either way.
Academic-year plans are available until Sunday 4 October. After that the monthly plans continue as normal.
A private one-to-one grind in Ireland typically runs €40–€60 an hour. Two a week across a school year is roughly €400–€500 a month. That is the number most families are comparing against, and it is worth being precise about what you get for the difference rather than just claiming to be cheaper.
What a private grind gives you that we do not: one-to-one attention aimed at a difficulty specific to your child, and a tutor who can change direction mid-sentence. If that is genuinely what is needed, it is worth the money and we would rather say so.
What we give you that a private grind does not: two live lessons every week at a fixed time, every one of them recorded and indexed by topic so the whole year stays available in April, notes written to match how questions are marked, a discussion board where a question asked at nine on a Tuesday gets answered, and on Platinum, written work actually read and marked to the State Examinations Commission scheme three times a year.

Yes. No minimum term and no joining fee. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
No. A family pays one price per cycle covering every child in it, so two children in the same year are covered by one plan. If they are in different cycles, the price follows the dearest one.
Yes, in either direction, from your account page. Upgrading takes effect immediately; downgrading takes effect at the end of the current period.
A monthly plan keeps running until you cancel it. An academic-year plan covers the year and then stops. It does not silently renew.
Yes. Every account gets a referral code, and a successful referral credits your account automatically: 50% off a month on monthly plans, or €30 off an academic-year plan.
